Dog scratching constantly. Could it be a chicken allergy?
Our golden retriever has itchy paws and ears and a red belly. The vet suggested food allergy and said to try a new protein, but nearly every dog food at the Bangkok shops seems to contain chicken. How did you manage an elimination diet here?

Read the label very carefully, because chicken fat and flavour are hidden in many foods and treats. Ask the vet about a prescription diet if the shop options are not enough. Also dry the paws and skin after walks, as humidity can make the itching worse, even if food is the main cause. Check with your vet.
HelpfulRemember that the humid climate also causes skin infections and yeast, which feel similar. Don't skip the vet check, as medicine might also be needed. Take notes and photos of the itchy spots every week, so you and the vet can see whether the new diet is actually making a difference.
HelpfulWe did eight weeks with only one protein we had never fed, a fish-based food, and no treats except that one. The itch settled about week six. Then we added things back one at a time to find the trigger.
