Puppy class or private trainer in Bangkok? Worth the money?
We have a four-month-old puppy and are considering a puppy class versus one-on-one sessions. Costs are not small. If you tried either, what did you get from it, and what would you look for in a trainer? We live in Ari, and there seem to be many options nearby, so I'd love to hear real experiences from other owners.

Group class was great for socialisation and meeting other owners. Private sessions helped with our specific problem, barking. Choose a trainer who uses rewards and lets you watch a class first. Ask whether the class includes socialisation with other puppies, because that matters most in the first few months, and wait until vaccinations are complete.
HelpfulAsk about the number of dogs in a class and whether vaccines are required. A good trainer teaches you, not only the dog. Trainers who give homework and a plan for you to follow are the ones who help the most, so watch out for those.
HelpfulWe did a group class then two private sessions. Practising at home daily mattered more than anything. Short, fun sessions in different places, like a pet-friendly cafe, make the biggest difference in our experience, because he learns in real life.
