How do I volunteer at a dog shelter in Thailand? I have free weekends
I'd love to spend my Saturdays helping at a shelter near Bangkok, walking dogs, cleaning, or taking photos for adoption posts. Do I need to register? Is it okay to go without being trained, and how do I choose a shelter that treats animals well?

I volunteer on weekends. Message the shelter first, since many have a trial day or ask for some sign-up. Bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty. They often need people for walking, cleaning, and photos. Also bring water and sun protection, because shelters can be hot, and many appreciate donations of towels and old blankets as well.
HelpfulBe careful about getting too attached on day one! Everyone wants to adopt every dog. Think about fostering as a step. Fostering lets you see how you handle it, and it frees space at the shelter for the next dog who needs help, so it feels useful.
HelpfulVisit once to see how the dogs live: clean water, shade, vet care, and not too crowded. Ask what they need most. Sometimes donated supplies help more than hands. You can also ask what the dogs need medically and whether they need help with transport to the vet, which is often a big need.
