Sangkaya

Sangkaya, named after coconut custard, is our cream-and-chocolate Siamese with big blue eyes and a voice that carries through the whole building in On Nut. She follows me from room to room commenting on everything. In the afternoons she lies on the warm laundry pile, and every evening she waits at the door when she hears the elevator.
